Morocco Set To Become First African Team To Play In COPA America
The Atlas Lions of Morocco may become the first African team to participate in the Copa America.
Blaze Newz gathered that the 48th edition of the tournament is scheduled for 2024 June-July and will be hosted by Ecuador.
The invitation of Morocco was approved by a majority of the members of the South American football confederation (CONMEBOL), per African Football hub Nuhu Adams.
According to multiple sources, Morocco has received a letter of invitation.

The Atlas Lions in the just concluded 2022 FIFA World Cup held in Qatar finished fourth after losing the third place medal to Croatia.

The Royal Moroccan Football
Federation (FRMF) will, however, deliberate about the invitation in the days ahead before taking a final decision.
It was also gathered that the Copa America is the lone continental tournament in the world that accommodates a team from out of the continent to participate as Guest of honour.

Qatar’s National team were guest at the last edition but this time around, 2022 FIFA World Cup semi finalist have the privilege to experience the 10-team competition.
Argentina are defending champions of this competition and go into next year’s tournament as favourites though the likes of Brazil, Uruguay and now Morocco could unsettle them.
