Thugs Snatched BVAS Machines In Katsina, Delta — INEC Chairman Confirms

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said it would punish ad-hoc staff or collation personnel who may have been found wanting following the conduct of the presidential and National Assembly elections last Saturday.

INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, disclosed this on Saturday in Abuja at a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners.

According to him, it will begin with not engaging those involved in wrongdoing in next Saturday’s governorship election.

“All staff found to be negligent, whether they are regular or ad hoc officials, including Collation and Returning Officers, must not be involved in forthcoming elections.

“RECs must also immediately initiate disciplinary action where prima facie evidence of wrongdoing has been established,” Yakubu said.
