Ode-Omu Agogs As Adeleke Commission's Science Labs ,Other

Residents of Ode-Omu town in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun, lauded efforts of Governor Ademola Adeleke in providing well equipped block of three Science laboratories for Community High School, Ode-Omu.

The governor also commissioned motorized borehole for the school, renovated the principals office.

Governor Adeleke who was represented by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, emphasized the commitment of the present government in ensuring the improvement of education in thes state.

The governor stated that education is the key to eliminating inequality and reduction of poverty in the society.

The project was facilitated by the Osun Community and Social Development Agency (Osun CSDA).

Speaking on the science laboratory, Adeleke said laboratory is springboard for many science oriented students to find their professional bearings in life.

According to him, “One of the problems with science education in Nigeria is poor laboratory facilities, which I believe the project we are commissioning today will be able to solve. I strongly believe that the development of these laboratories will serve as a springboard for many sciences oriented students to find their professional bearings in life.

“With good maintenance and sustainability, this will ensure longevity of equipment and systems. And as such fewer resources are expended on replacements and repairs”.
“I pray that many more students will develop interests in science subjects, as science is the body of knowledge.

“We gather here today to witness the fulfilment of one of the promises we made at the inception of our administration,” Adeleke said.

“The evidence of our commitment to the implementation of inclusive education, the commitment of promise to launch reform with a direct focus on improvement of the learning environment and outcome to reverse poor performance of students in public institutions.

“We are here to move Osun State forward in the area of education, putting the decaying infrastructures back in shape.”

He appealed to Ode-Omu Community Project Management Committee (CPMC) to ensure there is good maintenance and sustainability plan for the project.

In her address, the General Manager of Osun CSDA, Mrs Funmi Abokede, congratulated the people of Ode-Omu. She said the commissioning is only possible because of the funding provided by the State government.

“Indeed, our Governor is walking his talk on his Development Agenda to ensure that electoral promises are translated into needed social amenities and development” Abokede said.

She appreciated Okeyidi Community, Odeomu,
Parents and Teachers of Odeomu High School; for their contribution and participation before and during the implementation of the projects.

The Alayegun of Odeomu, Oba James Oladipupo Idi-Asa 1, appreciated the State Govt for remembering his Community with this kind of opportunity and promised that the project is would be maintained.

Also President Odeomu High School Old Students Association, Aare Sunday Omilani also commended the State Govt. for the opportunity of this programme.
